News of war reached me while I was planning a painting.
With a restless heart, I quietly brought my hands together in prayer.
Though I’ve only ever known peace.
My painting holds no influence.
So I paint just as it is.
I have no right to speak of peace.
So I simply paint what I have seen—just as it is.
